UAL: Wimbledon College of Arts Meets Elys Crackers About Christmas
the creation
Elys Crackers About Christmas theme for 2025 meets The Nutcracker with an in-store installation and window display created by the talented 2nd year design students from UAL: Wimbledon College of Arts.
Visual Merchandise Manager for Elys, Aaron Challis, briefed the students on the project from a client perspective. During the term Aaron checked in on the progress of the designs to align with Elys’ scheme, while allowing the creativity of the students to shine through.
The result is a bespoke, magical festive installation on the ground featuring the Mouse King and Nutcracker from the famous Tchaikovsky ballet and a Worple Road window display featuring animatronics.
The finished displays bring a whimsical touch of festive joy to Elys for visitors to enjoy throughout December, while students gain the valuable experience of working with a client brief and will be assessed on their work as part of their degrees.
