Founded in Brussels in 1857, Neuhaus has played an important part in Belgian chocolate history. In 1912, Jean Neuhaus Jr. created the Belgian praline by filling a chocolate shell, followed several years later by the invention of the ballotin box designed to protect and present pralines.
