Stylist’s Pick: Holland Cooper

Holland Cooper’s timeless pieces with an equestrian edge lend themselves to stylish autumn layering, here Elys Style Expert Helen, shares her pick of the collection with notes on styling…

Holland Cooper effortlessly combines practical, wearable pieces with a luxurious finish to offer a collection of knitwear to cosy up in, sleek tailoring and sharp outerwear with signature gold hardware detailing throughout, and accessories you’ll want to add to your wish list pronto. Styling with Holland Cooper makes autumn/winter dressing easy and I’m sharing my personal favourites with you here.

The Gilet

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of The Gilet and as we spend so much of the year in those in-between times with unpredictable weather, it is the perfect piece to grab and go for warmth without bulk. And when you have knitwear with buttoned cuffs like these, it would be wrong not to show them off.

The belts on Holland Cooper gilets are adjustable for the best fit, to cinch in your waist and can also be removed completely if a belted middle is not quite right for your shape.

Cable Knit

Cable knit roll neck; Black leather belt; Black skinny jeans

Nothing beats the cold weather quite like slipping into a chunky cable knit jumper. Wearing this with Holland Cooper jeans (packed with plenty of stretch!) makes for the ideal outfit for a weekend walk followed by a cosy pub lunch. Just add a chunky boot or HC sherpa lined short wellington boots for all terrains.

Crimson & Croc

Chenille jumper; Leather saddle bag

Add a splash of colour to your wardrobe in the form of this chenille knit with gold-coloured buttons on the shoulder. It is of course the ideal partner for denim but paired with a black jean or trouser and heeled boot, this rouge number will give you a warm winter look with a dressier edge.

This saddle bag with a croc-effect finish ticks the boxes for being practical yet polished and with the option of brown or black leather there is one to suit your own personal style.

The Blazer

Double breasted blazer; Black skinny jeans; V-neck t-shirt (long sleeve in-store, short-sleeve version here)

In lists of Capsule Wardrobe Essentials, a black blazer is often noted as a key piece to invest in and Holland Cooper’s double breasted style would be a wise choice. You can feel the quality of this jacket in the weight of the fabric as you slip it on and it really will work hard in your closet from work to weekend and day to evening dressing. From a simple white tee and jeans as styled here, to layered over a LBD or silky blouse and tailored trousers, it is a true wardrobe classic.

Accessorise All Areas

Wrap up in luxurious layers of scarves in camel and checks and keep in the heat with a cable knit beanie. Winter dressing never looked so chic.

Camel scarf; Cable knit hat; Checked scarf; Leather saddle bag

And finally…

Some additional extras you won’t want to miss:

Chelsea biker jacket - For a heavier duty leather jacket this biker adds extra warmth in a fitted shape.

Long sleeve bodysuit - The ultimate base layer for the colder months. Wear under everything from blazers and jumpers to dresses you’d normally put away for winter.

Reversible leather belt - This 2-in-1 belt gives you more for your money with the option of wearing on the black or tan side.

High rise flared jeans - I’ve styled these jeans on women from size 6 to 16 and the fit has worked for all. I think the secret lies in the stretch denim which hugs all shapes ensuring hips are accommodated with no gaping around the waist.
