Inspired by the movement of waves and the way they capture light, the lantern beautifully encases a glass column shade in a circle of stainless steel ribbons, expertly shaped into an undulating fluid form. The high shine surface of the steel reflects the candle light inside, creating an impression of movement that is almost magical.
American born Kelly Wearstler approached her Frequency collection for Georg Jensen with a desire to reflect both the raw power of the Californian coast and the timeless minimal aesthetic for which Georg Jensen is famed. The result has a sculptural quality that is both dramatic and warm, yet it also possesses a true feeling of lightness and modernity. The Frequency hurricane lantern consists of a handmade glass shade held in a mirror polished stainless steel case. The glass is frost proof and the lantern is suitable for outside use.
